In the Master of Arts (M.A.) program in History at St. John's, you willenjoy seminar-style classes that build a broad knowledge of history's main currents, along with the opportunity to specialize in an area of concentration. You willgain proficiency in research, written and oral communication, decision making, and critical thinking.

To fulfill requirements for the degree, you will completea minimum of 33 credits in graduate history courses with at least 18 credits focusing in one of the following areas of concentration:

United States History
European History
World History
Gender History

You will also complete six credits in a minor concentration, along with HIS 401 (Modern Historical Research) and HIS 402 (Historiography).
